6 eggs

3 1/2 cups sifted flour

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 cup melted margerine or butter

4 level tsp. baking powder

2 TBL. Vanilla or anise flavoring


Beat eggs portable mixer, kitchenaid or sum sort of mixer.

Add sugar gradually real smooth – then add margerine or butter and


Heat pizzelle maker and brush margerine or cooking spray on up and bottom lids.

1 TBL of batter.  Periodly look to see if they are set.  Continue with the rest of pizzelles.

(what I do is lay paper towels down on clean area and as you are checking, they can

be stacked)

For chocolate pizzelles, add 1/4 cup cocoa sifted together with flour and baking powder, 1/4 cup more sugar and 1/4 teaspoon more baking powder. I find that for the chocolate mixture, the iron must be well oiled to start and then brush on more as needed.
